Remarkable Latvian photographer Vilhelms Mihailovskis writes about photography in Latvia during 1970’s - 1990’sand shares his personal vision of “the golden age” in Latvian photo art. Art historian Alise Tīfentāle analyses the creative work of Latvian photographer Pēteris Vanags from the 1960s and 1970s that represents both subjective and objective tradition in photographic art.
The section “21st Century Works” features an exclusive interview with the famous American photographer Roger Ballenby Ieva Puķe. Photographer and film director Mārtiņš Grauds introduces his series “Sergeant Lapiņš is near” that was created on the sets of the new film “Sergeant Lapiņš Returns” directed by Gatis Šmits. Dr. Matthias Harder, the curator of Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin, introduces American photographer James Hendrickson. Elīna Ruka has met Bert Teunissen in New York and conversed about his documental series “Domestic Landscapes”.
Overview of upcoming events highlights an exhibition by young Latvian artist Reinis Hofmanis in FK Gallery.
